Vittoria - Victory

Dopo che la risoluzione ONU è stata approvata Sheik Hassan Nasrallah, capo degli Hezbollah, è apparso in televisione per dichiarare che è stata una vittoria strategica e storica per Hezbollah. Quasi contemporaneamente Olmert dichiara che Israele (e non IsDraele come i giornalisti nostrani continuano a chiamarlo - fateci caso) ha raggiunto il suo obiettivo di indebolire Hezbollah.
Bene.
Fico.
E pensare che fin dalla scuola elementare hanno tentato di insegnarmi che in guerra non ci sono vincitori. Meno male che non ci ho mai creduto.

A volte mi chiedo, e non so rispondere, "ma è sempre stato così? e il passato ci sembra più chiaro semplicemente perchè è passato?". Io non c'ero, ma alla fine della guerra del Vietnam sia gli Americani che i Nord Vietnamiti sostenevano di aver vinto?

They have been trying to teach me that war has no winner since primary school. Luckily enough I've never believed them.

Sometimes I wonder if it has always been like this and if the past seems clearer just because it is the past. For example, at the end of the Vietnam war did US and NV both claimed victory?.
